The Lost finale was thursday night and it was absolutely amazing.  I don’t want to go too much into it yet because there still are some people who haven’t watched (hurry up damn you), but I will say they did some fantastic things, as well as some heartbreaking things, and it has me more interested than ever.  I’ll give you all my theories and opinions next week to give everyone enough time to catch up.

There was a commercial for a company called Octagon Global Recruiting that aired during the end of the show.  It looks like this may be the start of another Lost ARG (Alternate Reality Game).   The commercial said that Octagon Global Recruiting is looking for “volunteers for a range of unpaid positions” and will be actively recruiting in San Diego July 24th-27th, which are the same dates as the San Diego Comicon.  I am seriously considering taking a trip out there to see whats going on.  I would be a fun vacation.

I bolded the first letters in the jobs and if you read them up it spells out: DHARMA INITIATIVE
The rest of the letters seem to just be random but some of the other people playing are putting them through different ciphers to see if anything interesting comes up.  If anything is found I will post it.

Gahhh foiled again!  I went down to the Westbury store today to pick my eeePc that their inventory says they have instock, but they don’t actually have any.  My plan is to use it to set up a completely mobile office.   I want to see if I can do everything that could be done at work or home while i’m on the train or a coffee house or even at the park.  I really think it’s possible and I think it will be pretty easy.  I’ll be picking up the eeePc shortly (might have to wait a week while it gets shipped to me) in the meanwhile I am trying to brainstorm some ideas of what exactly I want to do  I’ve got a few things.

• Connect to my home and work computers
• Edit, build, maintain webpages,
• Skype phonecalls w/video and bluetooth.
• Boot Backtrack for security auditing
• Manage all my online activities, twitter, facebook, my blog, email, torrents.
• Switch from using Installed applications to Portable Applications whenever possible.

So I spent a good portion of the night finding a bunch of userbars. For anyone who doesn’t know what they are they are standardized images that people have been putting into their signatures on message boards, they range from describing applications that the person might use, to interests or video games they may like. I saved a bunch that i’m going to add to my webpage when I finally get it up and running, but there we’re some things I just couldn’t find them for so I created them over at The Userbar Designer which is a easy to use tool that helps create basic userbars, you can even add some animation to them.  Here are some that I made.

Each one of these are clickable and will take you to their respective homepages.  The Digsby one is my favorite I think the icon looks really good, i’m putting it up on the digsby boards because some other people we’re looking for it.  Alright, night time. I’m going to be playing with these a little bit more so if anyone wants a specific one let me know!

Ohmigod! Omigod! I want one like whoa!!

The world needs to give me a break.  For the last few weeks I have been stressing like crazy.  I was at training for work, and my schedule was getting really busy.  We have a new manager who seems pretty cool but his management style is a little too hands on for everyone over at the precinct, so it’s been getting on my nerves.  We worked so hard to become self sufficient and now it feels like we are being led like a child again.  It’s no matter, i’ll adjust, the managers heart is in the right place.

On a personal note my life has gotten pretty rough.  I don’t ever like complaining about stuff, especially don’t like complaining to people who can’t do anything about it, so I don’t feel like going into it too much.  My friendships have gotten called into question, and I lost alot of trust in people.  Everything seemed kind of settled down at the moment.  I wouldn’t say anything has been resolved, atleast not from my vantage, I keep waiting for something to happen, and i’m still pretty shaken up.

This is why I want a big present from the universe.  I need something to replace all the negativity i’ve been dealing with and help me start feeling better.  Lunch time is over.  Time to go back to work.

Renissance Hotel = Epic Fail.

So of course, we get here at 8 after being promised an early 8am check in and there is no room.  I’m not surprised, nor does it really bug me all that much.  I could have used the extra hour of sleep and would prefer to keep my laptop and such in the safe….but it’s really nothing to get worked up over.

It’s a little colder today than I was hoping for but by the time i’m crammed between 100 people and listening to the band I doubt its going to matter.  No sun equals no sun burn which kicks major ass.  I just have to rememer to stop off and get some asprine for my knee.  Maybe i’ll just con some off of the ems personel at the venue.  My schedule is pretty full, and I wanted to video blog a bit but I forgot the adapter for my memory card (5am packing for the win…) so i’ll get some really short videos cuz thats all the memory my camera can handle.  Oh wells.

We tried again but still no luck on the room, but free Wifi and Invader Zim is gonna get me through it. 

I need to start setting some time out for me just to write.  I’ve been keeping myself to crazy busy that by the time i’m free I have to go to bed because tomorrow is an early day.  Few things going on I guess.  I’ve got The Bamboozle coming up this weekend, which is going to kick ass.  Expect my itinerary to be written up soon.

I think I have fixed some of the audio problems with my camera, which kicks ass.  Apparently there was a firmware update that helped cool down the microphone so whispers didn’t come across as screams.  I am going to test this out in public over the next few days and if it works out i’m going to be pleased.  Considering sneaking this into bamboozle to do some video in there of me and my friends hanging around (I respect artists enough not to videotape their performances), and eventually I’d like to try doing some video blogs to see how I like it.

It is time for bed though, tomorrow i’ve got some hardcore shopping to do.  Need some dress clothes for WLVAC’s Installation dinner, and some others for Bamboozle.  Night, Yo!
